Am I too early…?
I know, I know! Thanksgiving isn’t done with yet and I’m counting down to Christmas. But you’ve got to understand that, on this side of the pond, we don’t have that to look forward to – so we are going straight into Christmas!
Maybe you refuse to start counting until December 1st? Maybe you refuse to acknowledge the Christmas holiday until the week before?! Everyone has their own opinion and ideas about Christmas, right?!
We always had big Christmases when I was a kid. Even though mum was a single parent, if we missed out on things we never noticed, and we lived in one of those places where neighbours were family – and family were our neighbours. There was so much excitement, and it seemed to last for days and days!
I came very late to motherhood – we didn’t think we would get lucky enough to have kids, but this will be our eighth Christmas together with Hatti. She’s almost 10 now and it’s pretty safe to say this will be the last time Santa will be as involved as he has been in previous years … haha! So, I have to make the very best of this one. And to add to the excitement, this year we will have my mum, sister and niece coming over from England to stay for Christmas in Sweden. I almost can’t take the excitement!
I have known for a while that I would be incredibly excited on the run up to Christmas and I had been wondering how I could bring that excitement to you – what unites you and I in excitement…..? And I have organised something that combines the excitement of bag making AND counting down to Christmas!
Every day from 1st December to 24th December, I will be going live in the Scandinotions Creative Sewing group to open a surprise from the 24 Days of Bag Making advent calendar! It’s the only bag making calendar I am aware of, and I just can’t wait to share it with you. I have never had a bag making box from Studio 7t7 but what I have seen of them in the past makes me very excited indeed! As a bag maker and a lover of the Christmas holiday, I am absolutely delighted to be experiencing this myself and also to be bringing the experience to you!
If you can’t catch it live, you will of course be able to watch the replays at any time!
Elsewhere, in the Scandinotions world. Nelly the dog was thrown back in ‘cone jail’ when she kept nibbling at her wound from her surgery. It’s healing so well, and we aren’t taking any chances. So, back on the collar went.
There are still germs in the house and I’m not gonna lie – I don’t love it lol!
Don’t forget the NYE party which I announced in last week’s email! I will be announcing it to the group tomorrow. Immediately afterwards I will put up a poll about time preferences.
